TRIPLE THREAT BASKETBALL ACADEMY 2008

AT THE MOSHANNON VALLEY YMCA

DATES

CAMP I – June 10, 11, and 12
CAMP II – June 17, 18, and 19

 Each day the campers will meet with Coach Bailey for a morning session 9:00-12:00, an afternoon session 1:00-4:00, and a evening session 5:00-7:00 for the three days of camp.  Each session will have three components:

  • On Floor Skill Development
  • Off Floor Player Performance Training
  • Classroom Positive Mental Training / Basketball IQ

COST

$250 - includes lunch and dinner each day and a reversible jersey with your number  

SKILLS TEST & COMBINE:

I.  ON FLOOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

     NOAH SELECT BASKETBALL RATING PRE-TEST FOR SHOOTING

  • Video Replay - Noah Select records video that shows the shooter their biomechanical technique through instant video replay and frame-by-frame review.  This feature can be used for footwork, shoulder-hand alignment, ball position or follow-through review.
  • Noah Voice Arc Feedback - Noah Select gives instant Noah Voice verbal feedback on the arc (angle and distance), allowing the shooter to quickly learn the correct, most forgiving arc.
  • Noah Vision Plot of Shot Distance - At the end of a session, the Noah Select plots the arcs for all shots taken during the session.  Shots that go the correct distance are drawn in green.  Shots that fall short are drawn in blue.  Shots that go long are drawn in red.
  • Practice Session Review - Noah Select provides easy to read reports to see the results of each individual session.
  • Shooting Skill Level Measurement and Tracking - Noah Select measures and tracks consistency skill level improvement from session to session.
  • Noah Skill Level Scale - Noah Select scores the shooter after each session then rates the shooter from Level Builder I through Level Master IV.

II. OFF FLOOR PLAYER PERFORMANCE TRAINING

     SPARQ BASKETBALL RATING PRE-TEST FOR PLAYER PERFORMANCE

The goal of the SPARQ Basketball Rating is to give the instructor and the athlete the tools to assess the overall athleticism of the basketball player with tests that are designed to reflect the specific physical demands of the game.  Players in NBA and the NCAA possess-and-continuously refine-specific types of Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction, and Quickness.  The SPARQ Basketball Rating Tests::

  • One-Step Vertical Jump - Measures explosiveness
  • 20-Meter Dash - Measures linear speed and basic running mechanics
  • Overhead Power Ball Throw - Measures core strength and power
  • Agility Cone Test - Measures agility which is the athlete’s body control, lateral speed, and ability to change directions
  • 30-Second Endurance Jump - Measures explosiveness, repetitive power, and endurance

INSTRUCTION:

I.  ON FLOOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT TRAINING

A.   SKILL DEVELOPMENT
Shooting instruction done by Triple Threat Hoops, Incorporated, uses a state-of-the-art program with the advanced technology of Noah Select and The Gun to:

  • Refine and analytically breakdown the following proper shooting mechanics with slow motion and frame by frame

                * proper footwork
                * balanced base
                * proper hand positioning on the ball
                * power and timing during fully extended release
                * consistent follow-through

  • Improve shooting rhythm and range

                * shoot quickly
                * shoot accurately

  • Improve technique 

                * mid-range jumpers off the pass, mid-range jumpers off the cut, mid-range jumpers off the dribble
                * three-pointers off the pass, three-pointers off the cut, three-pointers off the dribble   
                * foul shooting 

      B.  TRACKING OF SHOOTING WORKOUUT

      Each player’s shooting results are recorded and can be used for:

  • individual rankings
  • shooting leagues
  • shooting workouts can be taped and added to a player’s library

       C.  BALL HANDLING AND OPEN FLOOR MOVES

Ball-handling and explosive open floor dribble moves are taught in conjunction with the shooting program to give each player the edge necessary to be an offensive threat for his or her team.  Constant drilling have made the former players associated with Triple Threat Hoops the game changing performers they became for their teams whether it be at the high school, college, or pro basketball level.    

II. OFF FLOOR PLAYER PERFORMANCE TRAINING

      A.  PLAYER PERFORMANCE

  • Core and stability training
  • Speed training

               * form running and stride                

  • Plyometric training

               * develop first step quickness
               * linear and lateral foot speed
               * change of direction
               * power
               * resistance and over-speed training

  • Functional training

               * functional flexibility routine and dynamic warm-up
               * balance
               * abdominal exercises
               * sport and position specific exercises

III. CLASSROOM POSITIVE MENTAL TRAINING / BASKETBALL IQ

       A. TRIPLE THREAT MENTAL TRAINING TECHNIQUES

  • Self-talk, relaxation, visualization, concentration, and goal setting

ADDITIONAL PROGRAMMING TRIPLE THREAT HOOPS HAS TO OFFER: 

ELITE GAMES: (one a week for three weeks)

  • three 40 minute games with clock stopping
  • games are taped and player highlights can be downloaded to player libraries

TRAVEL TEAMS:

  • travel teams in the spring, summer, and fall
  • games are taped and player highlights can be downloaded to player libraries

TOP 20 CHALLENGE:

One Day Event

Top 20 Players

TEAM PREP

  • teach college secondary transition break
  • half court sets
  • set plays for all out-of-bounds situations
  • play man-to-man defense

TOP 20 GAME  

  • 40 minute game with clock stopping
  • games are taped and player highlights can be downloaded to player libraries

SKILLS CHALLENGE:
